Destroyed

This bike had some "drag" in the headset. I pulled the top cap and I knew immediately what the problem was. The top bearing was fixable but the bottom was completely gone. Unfortunately this is an old USPS Trek with a 1 1/4" bottom bearing size with no taper on the bearing. The Trek dealer in town said he could possibly get one for me but he would have to call and find out. For now, it still has drag.

Saved someone $230

However I think I shorted my life a bit.... Pulled this Jelly fish of a cable end out of the shifter and interesting to note is the reversed "b" screw...

So my left shoulder hurts when I ride

This bike is sitting pretty much level. Notice the left hood placement. This person either has one arm that is about three inches shorter than the other or probably has a sore left shoulder.

Some very interesting hose routing...

So instead of trimming the hose so it doesn't have four feet hanging off the front of the bike, let's just wrap the hose around the stays.

Anti-post

I built up this beauty this afternoon. I'm not one to go all haywire over Italian, overpriced fluff so I was quite surprised at how it felt in the parking lot. Intrigued? Yes. Willing to pay to find out? Nope.

Right Tool for the Wrong Job

Note: A chisel is not the appropriate tool for removing bottom bracket bearings.

A Reoccurring Nightmare

Di2 + Venge + internal routing = Rape.
At this point, I guess I'm a serial bike rapist...

An odd place to see a Crack and Fail

This photo was taken within the den of the Big S. Having been in this industry for a day or two, I can't imagine the kind of shit the owner must get...

But Mine goes to 11/11/11.

Hmm. That is not where that goes. Oh, you say you have play in your bb? I wonder why? You should probably stop sticking things where they don't belong. You can end up in the hospital that way...
Yup. I get about half my travel. At least that way the top section of the stanchions aren't completely worn out as well. So when things are all said and done, I can flip 'em over and get another few thousand out of 'em.

The day's offerings to the bicycle gods...

They sell these things called chain stay protectors that eliminate that racket you hear when you are going over rough stuff and as an added bonus they protect your chain stay.
Every bike should have a barrel adjuster, right next, to another, barrel adjuster.

Spin Bikes Fucking Suck

I hate working on spin bikes. Especially spin bikes designed for consumer use that have been instead put in a gym and get used daily by hundreds of people. Trust me, these things are fucked... Luckily, I was able to delegate the task to the kid in the photo.

Electra

Electra, Making bikes harder to pedal uphill since 1993.

The original and his fork

Some of you may remember the original. Some of you may have wondered about him. He is alive and well. But his fork is in less than optimal condition. What you see above is complete and total stanchion anialation. This fork had a chassis upgrade 16 months ago which means new uppers, lowers and total rebuild of the internals...
